Brechin Railway Preservation Society |
||
The members of the society are drawn from all walks of life, tradesmen, council workers, public service workers, professionals, students, and of course BR employees. All working on a voluntary basis for the good of the Caledonian Railway. 'Armchair members' also play a vital part in the society. Being a member does not mean that you have to come down and get your hands dirty - members can support their favourite railway from home, keeping in touch with Brechin happenings through the BRPS newsletter, published quarterly. BRPS members also receive half-price travel on the Caledonian Railway at most times. The society organises a number of social events for the members during the year. Recent events have included visits to Aberdeen power signal box, and a bus tour of closed railways in the area using a vintage bus provided by our friends in the Angus Transport Group. The society also organises a popular annual Christmas meal and slideshow. |
